Having full understanding and
comprehension of the Security Standard Order Procedures (SOP).
Attend daily pre-shift briefing
by Security Supervisor and make notes on objects briefed.
Conducted short and precise
verbal hand-over briefing to relieving Security Officer highlighting
matter(s) of interest.
Punctually report to assigned
posts and receive verbal take-over report from outgoing Security Officer.
Immediately report any discrepancies
on inventory of equipment, items or lodged entries discovered at assigned
post to the Security Supervisor for follow-up actions.
Immediately report any damage or
out-or-order equipment, items under the care of post to the Security
Supervisor for follow-up actions.
Promptly respond to any call of
assistance from other department when instructed by Security Supervisor.
To act or take steps in
accordance with Security Standing Order Procedures to prevent or contain
any incident which compromise hotel’s security and safety.
Ensures that house rules (code
of conducts) are adhered to by associates or to Security Supervisor of any
breach of rules by them.
Conduct traffic and crowd
control when instructed to ensure smooth flow of events.
Conduct security patrols in
assigned areas and report to Security Control Room of any situation of the
ordinary, obstructions, suspicious characters, damages or out-of-order
lighting or items for further actions.
Make relevant, precise, neat and
legible entries into Security Log Book (daily) in accordance with Security
Standard Order Procedures (SOP).
Ensures all steps and actions
are taken in accordance with SOP to provide security and safety to guests,
associates and properties.
Ensures that unauthorized and
undesired person(s) are not allowed into the hotel premises and to take
steps and actions in accordance with SOP to remove the person if
admissions have already occurs.
To do escort duties whenever
requested by Security Supervisor or Security & Safety Manager or
hotel’s management.
Assist as Acting Supervisor in
the absence of any Security Supervisor when instructed by SSM.
Attend training, meetings or
dialog as requested by Security Supervisor, SSM or hotel’s management.
Undertake any instruction which
is not mentioned above related to security and safety given by Security
Supervisor, SSM or hotel’s management from time to time.
The main responsibility of all
employees of Sunway City Kuala Lumpur Hotels is to avoid self-inflicted
injury to themselves and any other persons around who might be affected by
the employees’ action at work.
All employees are to extend
their fullest support and cooperation with the employer or any other
appointed persons in the discharge of any duties or requirements imposed
by the employer or any other appointed persons responsible and authorized
to implement the necessary safety and health regulations deemed mandatory
under the Occupational, Safety and Health Act 1994.
Every employee working within
the respective environment such as Engineering, Kitchen, Housekeeping is
responsible to use personal protective equipment (PPE) and must comply
with all the work instructions and safety rules accordingly.
To report unsafe working
condition or environment to his superior or directly to the OSHA Officer.
Requirements
Qualifications
Ability
to understand and communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia with superiors,
peers, associates, suppliers, guest and patrons of the hotel.
Fair
knowledge of fire panel, card key access system and CCTV.
Experience
At
least 2 years of working experience in hotel security or five years in
building security.
Previous
work experience in the police force or armed forces would be an advantage.
Skills
Ability
to identify problems and/or potential problem, gather relevant data and
come to a reasonable conclusion.
Ability
to interpret instruction and be able to contain/overcome a routine
situation with minimum supervisor.
Ability
to create co-operation and communications with other hotels, the Police,
Bomba and other national services.
Good
interpersonal skills.
Satisfactory/fair
knowledge of fire protection systems, security surveillance systems and
general security practice
