Who is eligible to apply for the Sunway Scholarship?
Malaysian citizens who have received an offer or are enrolled full-time in a local public, Sunway, or endorsed institution are eligible.
What does the scholarship cover?
It includes tuition fees, subsidized living expenses, and other approved incidental costs, paid directly to the institution or recipient.
Can I apply if I’ve accepted other scholarships or financial aid?
No. Recipients must not hold any other scholarships, grants, or financial aid during the tenure of the Sunway Scholarship.
What are the academic requirements to maintain the scholarship?
Recipients must maintain academic results equivalent to a Second Class Upper each semester to continue receiving the scholarship.
Will I be bonded to Sunway Group after graduation?
Yes. Scholarship recipients are required to serve a bond with Sunway Berhad, its subsidiaries, or related entities upon graduation.
Can I make changes to my programme, institution, or take a gap/exchange semester?
No. Recipients are expected to complete the approved programme as offered and are not allowed to switch institutions or participate in exchange programmes.
Can I apply for a bank loan or other financial aid if the scholarship isn’t enough?
No. Once awarded the Sunway Scholarship, recipients are not permitted to seek additional financial assistance or loans.
How do I apply and when will I know if I’m shortlisted?
Applications can be submitted online during the open period. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview. Late submissions will not be considered.
What are my obligations during my studies?
You must provide updated contact and academic details, notify Sunway of internship arrangements, and complete your internship within Sunway Group as arranged.
What happens if I don’t meet the scholarship conditions or withdraw?
The scholarship will be discontinued without repayment if studies are not completed. Failure to meet academic requirements may lead to scholarship termination after two warnings.
